STEMCO AirBat® RF Tire Pressure Sensor Makes HDT’S “Top 20 Products”

(LONGVIEW, TEXAS - January 2010) Heavy Duty Trucking magazine has selected STEMCO’s AirBAT RF® SST tire pressure monitoring sensor as one of the “Best of the Best” new products introduced in 2010.  As such, it will be featured as a “Top 20 Products” award winner in the February issue and honored at the Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) meeting, also in February.

Designed specifically for steer and tag axle applications, the new sensor completes the company’s suite of wirelessly-enabled tire pressure sensors for all wheel positions on heavy-duty vehicles. An LED indicator on the wheel end alerts the driver or technician when tire pressure falls below target so the tire can be inspected and inflated prior to departure; and a suite of available readers and displays communicate low tire information to drivers in the cab, maintenance personnel, and dispatchers.

The publication’s editors were assisted in selecting this year’s winners from hundreds of entries.  Those assisting in the selection process were three maintenance professionals from the American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council, led by Darry Stuart, president of DWS Fleet Services, Wrentham, Mass.  Each of the TMC judges is responsible for the efficient, economical operation of a major fleet, with more than 30 years of experience using various products and services.
